Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru Resort is a small and romantic resort with wide white-sand beaches and a glorious lagoon. There’s a house reef for snorkelling, and if you board one of the dive centre’s boat trips, there’s a great chance of spotting turtles, manta rays, and whale sharks nearby.

Rooms
The 81 villas are fresh, stylish, and airy sanctuaries that invite a warm Maldivian breeze in through huge sliding doors. Beach Villas are just steps from the beach with a semi-open-air bathroom. Over Water Villas sit on stilts over the lagoon, with floor-to-ceiling windows and direct access to the water; upgrade to a west-facing villa for sunset views. All villas accommodate two adults and one child, except for Two Bedroom Beach Villas, which welcome two adults and two children, or four adults. The Over Water Villas that feature a private pool offer a truly romantic retreat in stylishly modern surroundings.
Surrounded by vegetation and right beside the beach, with a private deck facing the sea. The bathroom is semi-open-air with a shower, and the garden has a rainfall shower.
Overwater villas with modern comforts and stunning lagoon views of the lagoon. The spacious bedroom features a king-size bed and day bed, the bathroom has a rainfall shower and a bathtub with ocean views, and there’s a deck with steps down into the ocean.
On the beach, just steps away from the ocean, these villas have a king-size bed, a large bathroom with twin sinks and separate indoor and outdoor showers. The large outdoor deck has sun loungers and a private pool.
These villas are ideal for couples or small families. Upstairs has a spacious bedroom with king-size bed, a bathroom with rainfall shower, and a balcony. Downstairs there’s a king-size bed, a garden bathroom with freestanding bathtub and rainfall shower. The outdoor deck has a day bed and private pool.
As the Over Water Villas but facing west for the best sunset views.
Set overwater with all modern comforts, these villas have a spacious bedroom and stunning views of the lagoon. The bathroom has a freestanding bathtub, twin sinks and rainfall shower. Outside, the private deck has a pool and steps down into the ocean.
The same as the Water Pool Villas but with a terrace facing the sunset.
Facilities
The main buffet restaurant is Cuisine Gallery, which an international buffet infused with local flavours. Elsewhere on the island you’ve got Moodhu Grill, where meat and seafood are served on private overwater dining platforms, Art-I-San for dinner with a view, and Edgewater which opens for lighter lunchtime bites by the pool.

Edgewater
Open from late morning to late night, Edgewater is your pool bar, lunchtime joint, and evening cocktail bar combined.
The setting of Moodhu Grill is unbeatable, but the truth is, all the dining options at Maafushivaru are exceptional.

A gorgeously relaxing spa that includes plenty of options for couples on honeymoon and anniversary trips, and pregnancy treatments for babymoons. Maafushivaru has a yoga pavilion for group and private practice. There’s a fully equipped gym with ocean views.
Maafushivaru Diving School is a fully equipped PADI dive centre with multi-lingual instructors offering a wide range of underwater adventures, and catering for all levels from beginners to experienced divers. There are morning and afternoon dives from a Maldivian dhoni. Night dives, half day and full day trips to sites further afield are organised regularly. PADI certification courses are also available.
The fun new miniature golf course, which is 49 metres long, has nine holes with obstacles. It's shaded by palm trees and is surrounded by the island's tropical vegatation.
