For us as visitors to this sacred land, it’s about exploring the islands with mālama (care), being low key and local, and treating the landscape, heritage and people with respect. We’ve created a holiday to O’ahu and Kaua’i that inspires you to take on a slower pace and connect with communities and the landscapes they call home. We’ve set aside four nights on each island, but this is all about taking it easy so idling on either island (or both) a little longer is heartily encouraged.

Bali is Indonesia's 'Island of the Gods' and it's aptly named - this is a land of stunning natural beauty and friendly people who are proud of their ancient traditions and spirituality. You'll find the beach resorts that Bali is best known for on its southern shores, but there's so much more to Bali than its coastline. Venture inland, amid the lush rice terraces and dramatic valleys and you can cycle through rice terraces, go temple-hopping and take time out at wellbeing retreats. To really make the most of your stay on the island, we recommend at least 10 days and combining two or three places to stay as you travel around the island. During that time relax on the beach in the south or in the north (the north tends slightly wilder in feel and a bit more off the beaten track). For the more active, an early morning trek to see the sunrise from the top of Mount Batur is not to be missed, but other things to do to give you a sense of the culture of Bali include cooking classes, exploring local temples, shopping for local crafts and sampling local spa treatments that feature at most hotels.

We always recommend a twin centre holiday in Bali so that you really get to experience the very best of the island. The beautiful interior is not to be missed and a few days here amongst the rural landscapes, paddy fields and the cultural hotstpot that is Ubud is definitely a highlight. There are a few beach destinations to combine with Ubud, but here we've opted to twin with a southeast coast resort, making this a great combination for a restorative holiday chilling on the beach or a bit of an adrenaline rush with some watersports.

This trip is one of our favourite two-stop holidays. You’ll begin in glittering Singapore, shopping on Orchard Road, taking in the views and post-sundown light show at Gardens by the Bay and sampling some of the best food in the Far East before heading for beautiful Bali for a wellbeing retreat at the all-pool villa The Elysian.

There’s no need to play favourites when it comes to picking your Turks & Caicos stop off spot. We’ve set up the perfect pair: Providenciales and South Caicos. Across a week, they’ll reveal what makes this cluster of 40 plus islands so special. You’ve got Provo, the epicentre of all that’s going on (but it’s still uber laidback), and South Caicos, where sleepy days are only interrupted by some of the world’s best under-the-sea sojourns.

Dubai is a city like no other. Break up your journey to Phuket and spend three nights here. Then you’ll be ready to relax in chic villas that cascade down the hillside in Phuket, each with its own infinity pool and jaw-dropping ocean views. From here you can trek to local temples or learn to cook Thai food.

Holidays to the Italian Lakes feel like a deliciously clandestine north Italian affair, in a fairytale world of lemon trees and bougainvillea, where castles and Italianate gardens sit on their own islands and chalky-coloured houses almost fall into vibrant blue glacial waters. Some lakes are studded with luxurious resorts and the private homes of European aristocracy and Hollywood celebrities, while others back onto mountains and invite you to play on the water.

If you’re travelling all the way to the South Pacific, you want the miles to feel worth it, and French Polynesia absolutely rises to the promise of something unforgettable. On this holiday, we suggest breaking things up with a couple of well-placed stopovers, so the whole trip flows beautifully, stopping at LA en route to a classic pairing of Moorea and Bora Bora. Moorea gives you space to settle into island life, with lush mountains, quiet villages, and easy-to-explore coastlines. Bora Bora then delivers the moment you’ve pictured from the start: an overwater villa above a turquoise lagoon and the sense of being somewhere utterly extraordinary.

This is a great intro-to-Aus holiday that hits a trio of classic hot spots across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland but throws in Western Australia twist on the way. You’ll fly to Perth (perhaps making the most of the direct service from London) and use it as your jump off point for the rest of your adventure Down Under.

There’s plenty to pack into a few days in Bangkok, from a cruise down the Chao Phraya River to exploring Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. And of the beaches, Hua Hin is more accessible than some as it's on the north-western shores of the Gulf of Thailand, around three hours by road from Bangkok.

There's three sides to this Thailand tale: two city stays and some beach bliss on a sun-kissed isle. Following a few frenetic days in Bangkok eating, temple hopping and market exploring, head north to Chiang Mai a sacred city surrounded by rolling hills. Then it's time to do tone down the adventure and just chill on Koh Samui's sandy shores.

This classic city and beach combination is the answer to why Thailand is one of our most popular Far East destinations. A few nights in Bangkok is plenty of time to take a tuk-tuk ride, find yourself in a spectacular urban palace, have a three-course dinner on the river and try every kind of street food you find. Koh Samui is a crowd pleaser with great weather almost all year round and pale golden beaches. You could easily spend day after day doing nothing more than devouring amazing Thai food and sinking your feet into dazzling white sand to the easy pace of island life.

Experience the hustle and bustle of Istanbul and the relaxing beach vibes of Antalya on this multi-centre. We recommend spending at least 3 nights soaking up the sights of Turkey’s capital. A place where Ottoman traditions influence the present day, it’s brimming with history and culture. There’s a never-ending list of things to see and do in Istanbul so Antalya make a welcome addition for some beach-focused relaxation. Most visitors spend at least 4 nights here with its stunning stretch of mountain-framed coastline, luxe resorts dotted with swimming pools and charming old towns that provide a blast from the past.
