Eagle Island Lodge, A Belmond Safari, Botswana

Land, water and air safaris

This luxurious, tented safari camp is set on a private island in the heart of Botswana’s World-Heritage listed Okavango Delta.

Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is an intimate water-focused safari retreat situated on a private island at the heart of the Okavango Delta. One of the most beautiful places to visit in Botswana, the surrounding landscapes and wildlife can be explored by, canoe, on a walking safari or by helicopter.

This sumptuous tented camp is embedded in the heart of the wild Okavango Delta with a unique design that proves no Belmond lodge is the same. The curved architecture mimics the fronting Doro Channel. Inside, copper colours nod to Botswana’s copper mining industry accentuating smart swathes of charcoal paint. Brass-weaved chandeliers adorn the dining room as well as burnt orange cushions, the colour of the warm African sun. The design is particularly appealing come the evening when the west-facing open lounge is bathed in amber light. Sundowners of Okavango gin and tonic mark the occasion either around the fire pit or at the bar.
