Governors' Loldia House
A traditional farmhouse overlooking Lake Naivasha
Experience the life of Kenya’s early colonial era at this beautifully converted farmhouse which dates back to 1939.
Experience the life of Kenya’s early colonial era at this beautifully converted farmhouse which dates back to 1939. You’ll receive a warm welcome from the house manager at this lovely colonial house, where nothing is too much trouble for the incredibly attentive yet unobtrusive staff. There’s a slow pace here, with pretty grounds for lounging in amongst birdlife and antelope and daily afternoon tea offered on the terrace. Features include a snug bar area and an infinity pool with beautiful views of the lake and Mount Longonot.
There’s also plenty to do. Go horse riding along the lake shore or indulge with a treatment at the poolside spa room. The most popular trips are day visits to Lake Nakuru National Park, a boat ride on a nearby lake and a tour of the ranch. Night drives on the ranch are also possible and offer the perfect chance to spot leopards out hunting. When you return to the house you may well hear hippos grazing on the lawn.
