 Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp

A sanctuary for wildlife

This Serena camp brings traditional luxury to Lake Elmenteita.

Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp rests in the 48,000-acre Soysambu Conservancy – a sanctuary to rare wildlife including abundant bird species and East Africa’s only nesting site for the great white pelican. In total, the conservancy protects over 450 bird species, and is also a safe breeding ground for the Rothschild giraffe.

Intimate and classic, the camp sits in gardens dotted with acacia trees that lead down to the sapphire-blue Lake Elmenteita. Its conservancy location means that, as well as game drives, you’ll be able to go on walking safaris to get up close with the flora and fauna and head out on night drives to experience the nature of the bush after dark, hopefully spotting spring hares, an aardvark or an elusive leopard.

Why we love Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp

  • From pink flamingos to the great white pelican, this is a haven for bird watchers\

  • The camp's conservancy location enables guests to go on nature walks and night drives

  • Set against a backdrop of ancient volcanoes, relax on the terrace and absorb the specatular lake views

  • We love the range of activities available here - pick up a paint brush and capture your surroundings in water colour, join a cooking lesson or make a splash doing water aerobics
