Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel

A Nairobi icon

Dating back to 1904, this secluded gem in the heart of Nairobi has remained a celebrated landmark.

Over the years, The Norfolk has played host to presidents, explorers, actors and authors. In 2007, the hotel was acquired by the Fairmont group and given a welcome refurbishment, adding a modern elegant touch to the classic glamour and charm of the 1900s.

Facilities include an outdoor pool and a spa and the gardens provide a welcome setting after a day exploring the city. Both the bar and restaurant are popular on Nairobi's social circuit so expect to mingle with signatories, celebrities and expats.

  • The landscaped gardens provide a serene oasis away from the busy city

  • The Lord Delamere Terrace, or LDT as it is known locally, has been serving guests since 1904
