Sossusvlei Lodge

A desert escape

Sossusvlei Lodge is the ultimate desert getaway.

Set on a 40,000-hectare private reserve Sossusvlei Lodge was designed to blend in with the desert landscape and offers wonderful views over the red dunes and dramatic mountain ranges that change colour at sunset.

Guests can enjoy nature walks and sundowner drives where there's a chance of spotting everything from oryx and black-backed jackal to bat-eared fox and wildebeest. On occasion, brown and spotted hyena have been seen around the lodge and flood-lit waterhole. There’s a pool and a rooftop terrace where everyone gathers for sundowners.

Why we love Sossusvlei Lodge

  • Sossusvlei Lodge is a family business and is known for its friendly service

  • The views are a combination of red dunes, crisp grass plains and mountain ranges that change colour at sunset

  • If you want to see the landscape from an aerial perspective, they have a helicopter and aeroplane at the lodge for scenic flights over the dunes

Sossusvlei Lodge is just 300 metres from Sesriem Gate of Namib-Naukluft National Park
