Cape Cadogan

Immerse yourself into the city like a local

Exuding a welcoming vibe, this elegant hotel offers a great mix of the old and new.

Bohemian chic is the hallmark of this beautiful national monument hotel. On fashionable Kloof Street, this boutique hotel features Victorian influences including beautiful sash windows, white columns and signature black painted shutters. The interiors are gorgeous and complement the classic Victorian-style façade perfectly. Inside there’s an air of Oscar Wilde with velvet clove-green sofas, patterned wallpaper, chandeliers and beautiful floral decorations.

The award-winning Upper Union restaurant is a must try with dishes such as delicious burrata, seeded bread with fennel jam and a standout tomahawk steak, all menu highlights. Its location on Kloof Street means you're also moments away from plenty of local restaurants and bars. The comfortable lounge is the ideal spot to relax with a good book in front of the fireplace. The main courtyard has a terrace and plunge pool where you can retreat with a glass of wine after the rush of the city. A massage in the spa, with its range of treatments, is another relaxing option.

Why we love Cape Cadogan

  • Kloof Street has lots of lively independent shops, restaurants, and galleries

  • If you're feeling peckish in the afternoon, there's tea, lemonade and homemade treats in the library to help yourself to

  • The concierge team know all the best places to visit across the city

  • Due to the hotel's national monument status, rooms all have slightly varying layouts, a feature that adds to the property's alluring charm
