Victoria & Alfred Hotel

Chic and contemporary

This converted warehouse is at the heart of Cape Town's historic Waterfront

In a superb quayside setting, the Victora & Alfred Hotel is just a short stroll from the popular V&A Waterfront complex. Built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse, it was converted into a luxury hotel in 1990 and its minimalist décor, dramatic views and inviting surroundings add to its appeal.

The location means that there is plenty of dining and drinking options at your doorstep, but seafood lovers should try the hotel's Ginja restaurant at least once during the stay - the platter of prawns are always a big hit. There is a wonderful spa and a swimming pool set in lush gardens at sister property Dock House – the perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring the city.

Why we love Victoria & Alfred Hotel

  • Enjoy the freedom of being able to step out and explore the shops and craft stalls throughout the Waterfront

  • You are just a short walk to the departure point for boat tours across to Robben Island

  • Whether it’s seals bobbing or fishing boats coming in, there’s always something going on here

  • Opt for a Mountain Facing Room and wake up to views of the iconic Table Mountain
