Cape St Francis Resort Beach Break

An exclusive ‘home-away-from-home’ resort, nestled on the dunes of the beautiful Cape St Francis beach

The Cape St Francis Resort Beach Break is a rare gem on South Africa's southern coast. It has sweeping views of the Indian Ocean and nearby Seal Point Nature Reserve, and its luxury properties have private beach access for peace and exclusivity on your beach holiday.

Dining is a delight at the resort's on-site restaurant. Joe's Fish Restaurant specialises in steak and seafood which is served by the pool – we recommend trying Joe's award-winning calamari. For an authentic South African braai (barbecue), head to the traditional boma or enjoy a light snack or drink by the poolside bar and coffee shack. The area is rich with nature reserves and rivers for hiking and cruises, and surfers are in for a treat with great surfing conditions straight from the beach. You can also tee off at one of the two golf courses nearby, which includes the well-regarded St Francis Links course.

Divided into 23 rooms in five separate properties, the villas are the perfect setting for an intimate getaway or large exclusive group holiday. You'll have the privacy of your own suite and bathroom, as well as shared use of the villa's main facilities, including the large open-plan living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and an expansive private outdoor terrace with inviting private plunge pool. Beautiful large windows offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding beach and gardens, while calming hues and classic furniture help to accentuate the light and spacious interiors of each oceanfront villa.

Wow what amazing place. It was like a Mediterranean island in the middle of the Eastern Cape. A short 1 hour drive and we felt like we left the country. Beautiful well taken care of and clean facilities. Our unit even had a splash pool outside by the braai area and patio. Walking distance to the beach and an amazing Restaurant with great food and staff. Reception is such a pleasure to deal with and even a great little shop with all the last minute goodies that you might need. A must visit for anyone. We are sorry we did not stay longer. Definitely will be back.

Stayed three nights here playing the "Links" golf course. Weather was amazing, golf course difficult. Wished I could say the same for the "Resort". The resort was old, tired and in need of a "face lift." Towels, bedding furniture have all lived their "Past Due date." That being said, it is close to the beach and the unit we slayed in was a self catering unit which was very serviceable for young families. Both restaurants were very good and reasonable priced. The morning breakfast was "sufficient," side dishes were not as hot as I would like.

This is probably the worst place to stay in terms of accommodation as the rooms are dilapidated and really run down. Needs a major revamp. Also to have decent meals you would have to pass shacka which could be dangerous for night driving. Definitely would not recommend this resort.
