A chic and lavish hotel in a superb setting with incredible views over two picturesque bays.
The Plettenberg is a luxurious boutique hotel and a great place to spend a few days relaxing as you tour the Garden Route. An undeniable highlight of this exclusive retreat is the view. With bays either side and distant peaks towering on the horizon. Throughout the property, the blue and white décor reflects The Plettenberg’s marine location.
There are two swimming pools overlooking the ocean. Unwind with a cocktail at the contemporary Sandbar before heading to Amelia's at The Plettenberg for ocean views with mouth-watering sustainable dishes. Plettenberg still retains its village feel and you can walk there from the hotel to enjoy its coffee shops and elegant boutiques.

From the modern white bar-top, savour contemporary cocktails and mingle with locals and the South African elite.
If you’re after a more secluded and romantic experience, candle-lit dinners for two can be served in the wine cellar.
Capturing the hotel’s relaxing tempo, the spa is a sanctuary in which you can unwind in a serene atmosphere, with therapists who specialise in individual massage techniques and treatments including hydrotherapy and the ancient wellness method of Bellabaci cupping therapy.
From the hotel, there is a coastal path down to the beach where you can enjoy endless walks on the sands, looking out for dolphins jumping the waves. Whales may be seen off the coast from June to November. If you wish to explore the coastline further, bicycles are available for hire.
