The Residence Zanzibar

Your private pool villa paradise

The Residence draws on Swahili and Omani influences to create a seductive retreat of stand-alone pool villas.

Set in 80 acres of lush oceanfront gardens once occupied by Shirazi princes, The Residence Zanzibar is a sophisticated, world-class escape. It draws on Swahili and Omani influences to create a seductive retreat of stand-alone pool villas, offering excellent service and attention to detail.

From yoga to kayaking, every day they offer complimentary experiences for guest. There's a daily themed menu that features European, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine, with plenty of fresh seafood. Just ask the staff and they can set up private dining experiences on the beach, jetty or even arrange a barbecue sandbank trip too.

Why we love The Residence Zanzibar

  • The villas are set among exotic gardens on an isolated beach – think coconut palms and white sand with endless views of the Indian Ocean

  • You can spend long afternoons lounging on your pool deck, take a cycle through the bird-filled gardens and then cool off in the beachfront infinity pool

  • The resort is set on an isolated, mile-long stretch of beach among 32 hectares of exotic and bird-filled gardens

  • All of the villas have a private pool, perfect for relaxation and cooling off
