Sitting at the heart of Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Al Bandar is the ideal choice for those guests who wish to be in the midst of all the action and plan to make good use of the resort’s extensive facilities. Facilities
Take a culinary journey around the world at the resort’s numerous restaurants, bars and lounges – most of which are located at Al Bandar. Italian specialities are served alongside fine wines at Capri Court, while Asian dishes can be enjoyed at Chow Mee. There's a total of nine restaurants, bars, cafés and lounges throughout the resort.
Al Tanoor
The hotel’s main restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is where you can enjoy a range of Mediterranean, Persian, Indian and Turkish dishes.

CHI, The Spa embraces a holistic approach to physical and spiritual well-being. Inspired by traditional Asian healing philosophies, treatments are based on the principles of restoring balance and harmony to the mind and body. Treatments on offer include Chi Balance – a unique blend of Asian techniques personalised to suit guests' Yin/Yang status – and Herbal Harmony which balances body rhythms and releases the flow of Chi energy to revitalize mind, body and soul.
Head out on a dolphin viewing boat trip, visit the Eco Centre and learn about the endangered hawksbill and green turtles from the Turtle Ranger or glide down the resort's lazy river. Sporting facilities include four floodlit tennis courts and beach volleyball.
There are plenty of opportunities for novice and accomplished divers to discover life below the waves of the Sea of Oman. The onsite dive school Extra Divers offers a variety of experiences including sunrise and sunset dives and try dives as well as a number of PADI approved dive courses.
There are a number of incredible dive sites nearby including 10 sites at the nearby island of Fahal and the wreck of the 84-metre vessel Al Munassir.
The Turtle Care Project has been set up by Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa as part of Sanctuary, Shangri-La’s Care for Nature Project. The aim is to help protect the region’s endangered hawksbill and green turtles as well as educate the guests and local communities about these wonderful creatures.
The Cool Zone Kids’ Club is available for children aged 4-8 of both Al Bandar and Al Waha. Children under 4 are welcome too but will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Adventure Zone is located at Al Mazaar souk and features an extensive range of modular play areas including slides, climbing walls, ball pits and soft play areas. Two children’s pools are available – one at Al Waha next to the Assira Pool Bar, and one at Al Bandar by the Circles Pool Bar. Splashpad, which is located at Al Waha, is an aquatic play area where children can enjoy a variety of water effects.

Turtles often nest on the hotel’s beaches.
This is a spectacular natural phenomenon but can sometimes mean parts of the beach are cordoned off for the turtles' safety.
The Lazy River will be closed two weeks in June from 10-24 Jun (inclusive) for maintenance and deep cleaning.
The hotel will be closed during Ramadan from 05 May–02 Jun (inclusive).
