From Angkor’s spectacular temples to the indomitable Mekong River, Cambodia holidays are a beguiling journey into history, culture and ancient ruins.
Travel deep on Cambodia holidays into six centuries of Khmer Empire history and incredible sandstone temples. Just outside Siem Reap, the most famous of all is the colossal 12th century Angkor complex. Discover a world where monks beat drums at sunrise and silk-cotton trees and craggy vines wind their way around ornate carvings of apsara dancers and nymphs. You can see Angkor Wat’s major sites in a day but allow a couple more to visit Angkor Thom and the outlying jungle temples.
Over 300 kilometres away, tuk-tuks and street food trucks rub shoulders with faded colonial architecture in capital city, Phnom Penh. Here, you’re as likely to be enjoying cold beers and sticky rice banana wraps as you are chasing tranquility at the Royal Palace of Cambodia. Unlock the secrets of Khmer cuisine during a cookery class and boat hop over to the silk-weaving village on Koh Dach before a sunset Mekong cruise and a Long Margarita at Rosewood’s Sora Sky Bar.
We’ll give you the full experience of one of South East Asia’s most incredible destinations on our tailormade Cambodia holidays.

Where is Cambodia?
Cambodia sits in the southern part of the Indo China Peninsula in Southeast Asia. It’s bordered by Thailand, Laos and Vietnam and its two main rivers, the Tonlé Sap and the mighty Mekong, cross the whole of the country meeting in Phnom Penh. Siem Reap and Angkor Wat lie northwest and the country’s coastal waters are home to about 60 islands.
Temples of Angkor
Spanning over 400 km2, Angkor Park’s pantheon of treasured sights include the royal city ruins of Angkor Thom, the magnificent temple complex of Angkor Wat and a smaller circuit of jungle temples. An Angkor Wat day tour is the best way to explore the soaring lotus bud towers and mythological bas-reliefs of the largest religious temple complex in the world. Angkor Thom’s Bayon Temple and the elaborate Terrace of Elephants also make the wish list, as does jungle-clad Ta Prohm, where decorative divinities are cloaked in the enormous roots of long-decaying trees.
Modern history
Phnom Penh’s Choeung Ek Killing Fields Memorial and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum chronical Cambodia’s history under the 1975 to 1979 reign of Marxist dictator Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. Among the unsettling sites are torture rooms, graveyards and a Buddhist stupa housing over 8,000 skulls, all commemorating the Cambodian genocide during which an estimated 1.5 - 2 million people were tortured, starved and executed. Just outside of Siem Reap, the Cambodia Landmine Museum, founded by ex-soldier and now de-miner Aki Ra, displays thousands of mine and shells highlighting the atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge, who planted an estimated 10 million land mines during the 80s and 90s.
The Mekong & Tonlé Sap
Flowing through China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, the Mekong is the twelfth largest river in the world. It enters Cambodia at Kohne Falls and meets with the Tonlé Sap in Phnom Penh. Providing freshwater fish, shelter for rural communities and water for agriculture, both rivers are the lifeblood of the country. You can take a tranquil sunset cruise across the Mekong River and Tonlé Sap, passing floating villages and seeing the city from a different perspective.
Getting around
We offer transfers between the airport and your hotel in Cambodia. The most popular way to get around the cities is by tuk-tuk, motorbike taxi or car taxi and you should confirm the price before hopping in. Tuk-tuks will take you to Angkor Archaeological Park and the surrounding temples, however we recommend a private tour for the most seamless and insightful experience.
