Harbour Rocks Hotel Sydney
A boutique hotel in the heart of The Rocks
Dating back to 1887, this charming boutique hotel is heritage listed.
Located in Sydney’s historic Rocks area, this fully refurbished boutique hotel whisks you back to a bygone era. The beautiful hotel is steeped in history – built by 12 convict carpenters and 16 hired men on the site of Sydney’s first hospital. Start your day with a caffeine-boosting coffee and breakfast bagel from Creperie Suzette before heading out on foot to explore the Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art - all within walking distance of the hotel. Browse the nearby boutique shops and art galleries, before taking a ferry from Circular Quay to the beaches at Manly or Watsons Bay before returning to the hotel for dinner at Tayim Restaurant or any of The Rocks popular restaurants.

The hotel's restaurant, Tayim, specialises in Middle Eastern cuisine and sprawls out onto a lovely al fresco terrace. Creperie by Suzette offers a range of sweet and savoury morning snacks, perfect for an energy boost before exploring Sydney. Don’t miss a nightcap at Eric's bar where you can learn about the 19th-century seafarer who gave the bar its name. You are also just steps from a good range of international restaurants in The Rocks.

Very very noisy - can hear everything in the street and each time neighbouring rooms open doors. Air conditioner sounded like an alarm going off. Intercom at the front doesn’t work which made a late check in difficult. Central location which is handy. Old minimalistic hotel. Wouldn’t stay again due to the noise.

Keep in mind this is no Hilton. It is a very old building. Very clean but different. Example the room is all painted brick. Different. The shower is small but the water is plentiful and can be adjusted how you like it. Hot or cold or just right. The shower is small. Approximately 30 by 30. The tile has a tendency to be slippery when wet. The room we had there was only three steps to reach the room. The room was quiet after 10:00 after a band session ended. The bathroom sink has a low shelf that restricts you bending over the sink. Our breakfast was included. At first I had questions. After enjoying it for three days I have to say it was the best I have ever had. The hotel is convenient to the cruise port. Just down the hill. Close to Sydney train and ferries. Have stayed in different hotels in the rocks and this one has been the best. If you like your polished hotels then book Marriott. Would stay again.

Quaint old style hotel. Rooms comfortable, staff very friendly and most helpful. Great location close to Harbour bridge, ferries and the Opera House as well as Rocks area of Sydney where there is a weekend market. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.
