Little Good Harbour

A laid-back hideaway on Barbados’ serene north-west coast

Set around a 17th-Century fort, this chic, family-run boutique offers low-key relaxation and a home-from-home welcome.

This charming hideaway is set in a sleepy fishing village and offers a refreshing alternative to the livelier west-coast resorts. Here you can experience the best of both worlds – enjoy the friendly service and amenities of a boutique hotel, as well as the home comforts, exclusivity and privacy of a villa. Nothing is too much trouble for the welcoming staff, who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Sink into a sun lounger by one of the pretty pools, go snorkelling in search of colourful fish or cross the road to the small but beautiful white-sand beach; it’s all about laid-back charm here, with a home-from-home feel and a relaxed, welcoming vibe that will have you feeling like you’re one of the family as soon as you arrive.

Why we love Little Good Harbour

  • It’s intimate and homely, with charming whitewashed cottages and an idyllic location on a peaceful, powdery white beach.

  • The suites are spacious and perfect for families, providing the privacy of a villa with the perks of a hotel.

  • The Fish Pot Restaurant is excellent, with atmospheric, coral-stone walls and Caribbean-inspired menus served to the tune of crashing waves.

  • Good to Know

The 17th-Century fort has been carefully restored and now houses the celebrated Fish Pot Restaurant, serving Caribbean and international dishes against a dramatic ocean backdrop. Try the grilled market fish with jerk rice and plantain salsa or opt for the spicy lobster risotto, then finish it off with sticky toffee pudding drizzled in Bajan rum sauce. We recommend booking for dinner, as it’s a popular spot for locals and visitors from all over the island.

There’s a spa treatment room if you’re in the mood for a massage, and a fitness room if you’re wanting to burn off the indulgence.

Resident surfing instructor Ken Mayers is on hand to offer surf lessons for all levels. The resort also has its own private jetty, and local Captain Dwayne can take you out on snorkel trips, coastal cruises and power boat tours. Sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, diving and other activities can also be arranged through local operators.

Minimum stay: 7 nights 16 Dec-07 Jan.

This hotel is not available on selected dates throughout the year.

There is a room levy payable locally on departure.

New Year's Gala dinner is subject to an extra payment.
