O2 Beach Club & Spa by Ocean Hotels

Contemporary cool meets authentic culture at this luxury all-inclusive

A luxury boutique hotel on Barbados’s south coast with a trendy rooftop bar overlooking Oistins Bay.

The fresh and contemporary O2 Beach Club & Spa is fronted by a sweeping, palm-lined beach with talcum soft sands. The name gives a clue to the vibe here: it’s a cool and contemporary beach club with glistening pools and casual eateries only a few steps away from your memory-foam sunbed. The resort’s spa offers a wide range of muscle-melting treatments, and you can gain a few new skills when you’re on holiday thanks to the range of hands-on ‘how to’ experiences that range from steel pan playing and rum punch making to Hobie Cat sailing.

Why we love O2 Beach Club & Spa by Ocean Hotels

  • There’s a great choice of dining, plus nightly Bajan entertainment. Guests also get access to sister resort Sea Breeze Beach House (minimum four-night stay).

  • The resort offers daily ‘how to’ classes showcasing the island’s culture including how to play the ancient pit and pebble game of Warri.

  • It’s 8th-floor spa is the highest on the island, offering a calming ocean backdrop.

  • On the stunning sun terrace you can chill out under a pergola or soak up the rays and the views from your rooftop sunbed

Four restaurants and a cool coffee shop offer plenty of choice on the culinary front here, with menus spanning Asian to Caribbean-fusion. Come on a Saturday for Bajan specialities and live entertainment.

Elements
Start the day with a Mimosa breakfast here, and tuck into buffet lunches and dinners, from Caribbean to Asian to Italian; think teriyaki glazed salmon and pineapple coconut rum cake, with a mesmerising ocean view for a backdrop.

Oro
Set on the ninth floor, this fine-dining rooftop restaurant offers breathtaking views over the South Coast, and serves innovative European-meets-Caribbean cuisine in opulent surroundings; think smoked duck salad, grilled lobster tail and filet mignon, finished off with Bailey’s coffee crème brûlée.

Bluefin
Enjoy casual beachside fare at this laid-back open-air-venue, serving burgers, salads, pizzas and seafood a stone’s throw from the beach.

Brisa
Tapas-style dishes come with a view at this nautical-themed rooftop lounge; feel the breeze as you tuck into the likes of seafood paella, stuffed aubergine and crab croquettes on a stylish wooden deck under the stars.

Oasis
Teas, coffees, sweet treats and cocktails are the name of the game at this poolside café, offering beautiful ocean views.

It’s hard to beat the Brisa Roof Terrace – a stylish bistro where you can snack on small plates while taking in views over the famous Oistins Bay.

The resort is reducing its use of single use plastic and uses its own coral-filtered watered instead of bottled still water. The hotel partners with the Barbados Sea Turtle Project with the aim of helping to restore local populations of turtles, it also partners with Pack For A Purpose, encouraging guests to bring school supplies and other equipment in their luggage for local students.

Guests staying at least four nights get 18 holes of complimentary golf at the nearby Barbados Golf Club (as well as club hire).
