Argos in Cappadocia

Stone Age style with a sophisticated twist

Once an ancient cave dwelling, argos In Cappadocia is now an evocative boutique hotel with those famous hot air balloon views.

The fascinating Argos in Cappadocia is set on a high plateau famous for its remarkable geology of volcanic tuffs. The views of colourful hot air balloons drifting over Pigeon Valley and the windswept fairy chimneys alone give this one-of-a-kind place a must-visit status. But this hotel has also brought an ancient village and monastery back to life and has a palpable connection to its 2,000 years of cultural heritage. Spend your days exploring the intriguing underground tunnel complexes and one of Turkey's most extensive natural underground cellars, or wander through organic gardens to try the locally grown grapes and fruits.

Why we love Argos in Cappadocia

  • Sample Cappadocia wines from the hotel’s vineyard, selected from a cellar holding 70,000 bottles, made from grapes cultivated in volcanically fertilised soil on a terrace with a view of Mount Erciyes.

  • Fruits from the organic orchards are dried and preserved in the fairy chimneys, or try them fresh in the restaurant’s jams and sauces.

  • Find an oversized lounger around the infinity pool – the sublime views of the Güvercinlik Valley may distract you from a novel you hoped to get stuck into!

  • For relaxation, slip away to the spa set in atmospheric ancient caves carved into the rock or rise at dawn for daybreak yoga.

The dining here is as extraordinary as the setting. Imagine waking to leisurely breakfasts of warm-from-the-oven breads, flaky pastries and cooked-to-order omelettes, all while watching brightly coloured hot air balloons float above Cappadocia – nab a window seat for the best views. Later in the day, take to the outdoor stone terrace for an al fresco dinner of Turkish delicacies, washed down with vintages from the hotel’s own vineyard – and served with views of the snow-topped Mount Erciyes.

Seki
Located in one of the oldest monasteries in the world, Seki serves up plates of hyper-local dishes with ingredients harvested from the hotel’s gardens. Expect a menu of slow-cooked meats, fresh pasta, and vegan specialities.

Nahita
Rooted in Anatolian traditions – including a waste-free approach – Nahita celebrates local flavours in its fabulous tzatzikis, garden-fresh organic veggies, and incredible spices.

Pool Bar
Order refreshments while you enjoy the view from the hotel’s infinity pool.

Whats Included

Breakfast at Seki Restaurant.

Sustainability is an everyday priority at argos In Cappadocia. The hotel is home to a vineyard and organic gardens, and guests can help pluck produce straight from the grounds. As in keeping with its monastic roots, pigeon dung is used as fertiliser instead of anything artificial. Purified spring water irrigates the gardens and solid fuel has been replaced with sustainable heat pumps.
