The Royal Orchid Metropole

Live like the guest of a Maharaja

Mysore is known as a heritage city, and this hotel is very much a part of that heritage.

The Royal Orchid Metropole has been serving guests visiting Mysore for over 100 years. This heritage property was first built by the Wadiyar dynasty as a guest house to welcome the Maharaja’s international visitors. Some of the hotel’s traditions are maintained with high tea served in the lounge. Royal Orchid Metropole is now a wonderful base for exploring the city’s main sites with the magnificent Palace of Mysore and Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery within walking distance of the hotel. After sightseeing, you may want to take advantage of the hotel’s swimming pool or wander through the beautifully landscaped gardens.

Why we love The Royal Orchid Metropole

  • The hotel is set in two-and-a-half acres of beautifully landscaped grounds filled with 100-year-old trees

  • You are within walking distance of the Mysore Palace, the Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery and the Railway Museum

  • After seeing Mysore's attractions, cool off in the hotel's swimming pool

  • Each of the rooms has a balcony overlooking the garden, courtyard, or swimming pool
