When you step into the gleaming lobby of Le Méridien Ile Maurice, expect to feel instantly relaxed. After your hour-long transfer from the airport, you’ll be met with refreshments and a view of the calm Indian Ocean. The resort is set in low-rise buildings on a ribbon of palm-studded, muscovado-sugar sand, with all 261 guestrooms orientated towards the sea. Rooms
Every room faces the sea, and they all have balconies to take advantage of the view. Inside, they’re sleek, smart, and tasteful, with hardwood floors and modern mid-century-style furniture. They’re also spacious, even if you opt for the entry-level Junior Suite. Plunge Pool Hideaway, Romantic Allure, and Tranquil Bliss are all adults-only rooms located in the Nirvana wing of the hotel which features an exclusive pool and restaurant, although you’ll still have access to the facilities across the wider resort.

The restaurants at Le Méridien Ile Maurice keep things nice and varied, from the broad international options at Nomad to those with a culinary focus, like Indian dishes at Kumin and creole barbecue at Waves. Nivarna guests will enjoy breakfast at the exclusive Jade, and others, including families, will head to Nomad. Either way, you can start your day early with a pre-workout breakfast or indulge in a holiday lie-in and head down later – breakfast is served until 10.30 am.

The open kitchen takes centre stage at this international buffet restaurant, where you have the option to dine indoors or out for breakfast and dinner.
Jade
Exclusively for Nivarna guests, Jade is a smart beachfront Pan-Asian eatery that’s perfect for dinner with a sunset view, although it also opens for breakfast and lunch. Don’t miss the teppanyaki menu.
Kumin
Head to Kumin for dinner by the pool and feast on aromatic curries and side dishes galore.
Waves
Set in a fabulous location, steps from the sand. Settle down and order creole barbecue dishes with a soundtrack of the ocean waves.
Latitude 20
A sleek, contemporary venue that evolves throughout the day, from a coffee bar in the morning to a wine bar at night.

The Explore Spa has a wide range of treatments available, including massages, scrubs, and wraps designed to completely relax you. Some out-of-the-ordinary options are available too, and you can book to learn the art of massage for yourself or try a session in the Snow Room, where you can alternate between hot and cold therapies.
A sea-view gym with cardio equipment, weights, and strength equipment is open 24/7, and a tennis court is available to hire for a fee.
Families are warmly welcomed at Le Méridien Ile Maurice. A colourful kids club keeps children aged 4-12 busy seven days a week, and every day (except Sunday), it’s open until 9.30 pm so parents can enjoy a relaxing meal for two. Children can expect activities like dancing, crab hunting, creole lessons, sandcastle building, or make friends as they play in the dedicated kids’ club pool and playground. For a fee, children can join excursions to local parks and aquariums.
Away from the kids’ club, families can spend time around the resort’s pool – two of the three swimming pools welcome children. There are also plenty of water sports and cruises to try together, and resort can arrange a family adventure to the Outer Islands for snorkelling and fishing. Families might also enjoy a trip to the beautiful botanical gardens, around a 20-minute car journey away.
Dedicated children’s menus are available at the restaurants, with plenty of healthy choices and clearly marked allergens. Vegetable purees are available for the smallest diners.
