A revamped resort with two beaches and uber-cool interiors with a hint of African influence.
This Indian Ocean escape wraps invitingly around a cove at the northern tip of Mauritius. There’s no impersonal vibe like with some big chain hotels – staff will greet you by name and you’ll be spoilt in exceptional LUX* fashion. Lush gardens of bougainvillaea and banyans cocoon a spa, tennis courts, two swimming pools, fitness centre and golf driving range. Pick from two stunning beaches: caramel crescents of sand edged by palms. The bathwater-warm lagoon is the perfect spot to pass away the time.
Why we love LUX* Grand Gaube, Mauritius
-
The whole design is fresh and inviting, with serene white spaces contrasting with cool street art and bold wall murals
-
There’s an adults-only area with a tranquil pool and beach as well as a superb club for children
-
You can go on a delicious culinary journey that takes you around the globe from South America to Turkey via Asia and Italy
-
It’s hard to imagine a more soothing natural setting than this, with two secluded bays in which to laze, swim and snorkel
Rooms
Kelly Hoppen's also cast her stylish wand over the 186 rooms, accenting gallery-white walls with a fashionably eclectic mix of woven African baskets, hand-made ceramics, vintage rattan furniture and geometric tiles.
For romance and privacy, we suggest an Ocean Junior Suite, which comes with a four-poster bed and sea views from the standalone bathtub on the secluded balcony.
Facilities

Gourmands will be in their element, with six restaurants, nine bars, a café and an ice-cream parlour dotted throughout the resort.
The Palm Court
Dining counters flank live cooking stations at the main restaurant, where chefs rustle up everything from Mediterranean tapas to dishes showcasing flavours of South East Asia. Open for breakfast and dinner, it is also home to a bakery and dessert bar, plus a wine table experience and cocktail bar.
Beach Rouge
This breezy day-to-night hangout offers a light menu and refreshing drinks – all served with glorious ocean views, of course, plus a live DJ after dark.
BB’s
In the shade of an ancient banyan tree close to the adults-only pool, you’ll find this gourmet burger shack, where freshly grilled burgers and hot dogs (child portions and vegan versions included) are rustled up from 12.30 to 5pm.
Bodrum Blue
Beneath a canopy of rattan lamps, this tranquil Turkish restaurant on its own little peninsula is the place to come to lunch or dine on the likes of Levantine mezze and succulent kebabs.
INTI
The island’s first Latin American restaurant, draws upon the gastronomic influences of Peru in its evening-only offerings, from a ceviche and tiradito bar to an open grill kitchen and a fresh pastry station.
Creole Smokehouse
Twice a week, by the lit-up banyan tree, this authentic Creole smokehouse serves up plates of cured fish and meats (be sure to sample the charcoal-grilled prawns).
Café LUX*
From early until late, you’ll find superb coffee made from ethically sourced beans, wellness shakes and delicious cakes.
G&T 100 Club
Gin-lovers should hotfoot it to this beachside bar to sample concoctions that pay homage to the humble juniper.
Grab a seat on the outdoor terrace at INTI for fabulously inventive Peruvian food – and don’t miss the punchy pisco.

Stayed at this wonderful resort for 3 weeks where we celebrated getting married and myself having the BIG 60 birthday Booked one of the Prestige junior suites room 7000, fantastic location, great suite , private jacuzzi and large open bathtub on the wooden decking overlooking a private bay Food was excellent throughout the array of restaurants, drinks package on the all inclusive was absolutely fine as well Entertainment was provided every night , all though everywhere is shut by midnight, most couples I noticed had retired by 10.30 latest Wedding was organised by Nitisha, the resort’s wedding coordinator, fantastic lady , couldn’t do enough, made sure our ceremony and after dinner went smoothly according to plan She organised all our necessary paperwork, worked tirelessly on our behalf for when we arrived, greeted us with a beautiful smile and appeased the nervous bride 🤗 Organised a surprise birthday gift for myself, a cake and complimentary champagne, lovely touch by the wonderful lady Kept us informed of every detail, met us on a daily basis in the run up to the wedding day, she is a real credit to the Lux Hotel group Found all the resort staff to be of an impeccable quality, well trained, hugely professional and extremely warm in their service Would not hesitate in recommending Nitisha, her wedding services and Lux Grand Gaube to everyone who wanted a magical island 🏝️ wedding

We had the privilege of spending 10 nights at Lux Grand Gaube for our honeymoon, and it was genuinely a dream come true. Every aspect of our stay was exceptional — from the breathtaking views to the world-class service, it surpassed all expectations. Dining at any of the five restaurants is a treat, but Bodrum Blue stood out as our favorite. The combination of exquisite Turkish cuisine paired with the stunning ocean view created an experience we will never forget. Our Wellness Junior Suite was spotless, elegantly designed, and offered a beautiful view while maintaining a sense of privacy and tranquility. Throughout the resort, you can see the meticulous care and thoughtful consideration given to every detail, ensuring guests have a memorable and carefree holiday. The spa is a true sanctuary. The facilities are excellent, always serene, and the therapists are incredibly skilled — our couples massage was honestly out of this world. No matter where you are on the property, you’re surrounded by gorgeous views and cleverly designed spaces that blend beauty with practical convenience. The staff at Lux Grand Gaube made our stay truly special. A heartfelt thank you to Elena, who warmly welcomed us on our first day and went out of her way to make our honeymoon unforgettable. Kunai, the night manager, consistently went above and beyond, always ensuring we felt celebrated and cared for. The waitstaff and coffee bar team were genuinely attentive and unfailingly friendly — their warmth and professionalism were outstanding. We also loved connecting with Mario and Ainni from the Junk Art Gallery, whose creativity, humor, and passion left a lasting impression on us. We can’t wait to return to Lux Grand Gaube. It was more than just a holiday; it was an experience that will stay with us for a lifetime. Thank you for our unforgettable stay! Alex & Kyra Wilcocks

Mark Twain wasn't far wrong when he said "Mauritius was made first, and then heaven, and heaven was copied after Mauritius". Such a beautiful, welcoming and diverse country, and as for Lux, you would be very hard pressed to find a better hotel experience. My wife Naomi and I stayed for 10 days at the start of March and really loved our time here. We were welcomed by Sandeep warmly upon our arrival and every morning thereafter. All the reviews praise the staff and it is evident why, our experience reflects all those many many others. The people were just lovely, accommodating and glowing with warmth. A resort holiday isn't our usual go to trip but we just needed to relax, in a lovely setting and be doted on after slogging in stressful jobs and Lux really ticked every box....especially the one containing long lazy breakfasts and many croissants!! Personally, being a man on the move I would have gone a bit mad without the driving range, gym, tennis and padel courts and these were a very welcome part of the resort. All in great condition and easy to enjoy. We would recommend getting a car to explore as there are no external restaurants or bars to speak of really within walking distance, if you want a change, and the rest of the island is absolutely worth exploring. Coming back to such a fantastic location and room at Lux however, was the cherry on every day's cake. We wish all the staff our very best. George and Naomi Barnes (neé Davies) - Wales, UK.
