 Grand Hotel Capodimonte

Perfectly positioned for relaxation and exploration

The striking views over the water and Mount Vesuvius make this hotel a real Neapolitan Riviera gem.

Terraced gardens fragranced with lemon and orange groves surround this exquisitely designed hotel and with Sorrento town within walking distance, it's in a perfect position for discovering all of the local historical sites. The many bars and cafés of Piazza Tasso are also just a short walk away and provide the ideal location for watching the world go by. The invigorating hydro-massage pool will reawaken any tired muscles from all the sightseeing and cool shady terraces provide wonderful respite following a busy day. Alternatively, you can enjoy a soothing massage or treatment at The Lemon, the hotel's wellness centre.

Why we love Grand Hotel Capodimonte

  • Just a 10-minute walk from the historic centre of Sorrento and close to the fishing harbour of Marina Grande.

  • The central feature of the hotels is its series of five cascading swimming pools that descend through the lemon and olives trees across different terraces.

  • The hotel is a great base from which to explore some of Italy's most famous attractions including Amalfi, Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum and Pompeii.

  • During summer, there is a weekly Sorrento Soirée where you can try typical dishes from the region.

This hotel is amazing not just because of its cleanliness and beautiful layout, and amazing breakfast each morning. But the view from the pool area and, some, of the rooms are just to do for. If I came again, I would get an even nicer room with a nicer view!

The Hotel Capodimonte is an excellent hotel in a great location, within easy walking distance to Sorrento town. We booked a sea view with a balcony, it was very clean spacious and views made the room worth paying the extra. We stayed on a half board package, which allows it to be either dinner or lunch. The breakfasts were very good and the three course dinner and the main restaurant was ok, but if we visited again would book bed and breakfast an eat at one of many restaurants in Sorrento. The hotel staff were very helpful, they booked us a taxi back to the airport at €150. Be careful we took a white taxi (recommended in guide book) from the airport to the hotel and driver tried to charge us €250. The port is a 20-30min walk away and from there you can take various boat trips. A trip by road to Amalfi coast is a must. Overall this is hotel really is amazing and we would not hesitate to recommend
