This beachfront resort is styled as a Thai village with opulent details and lagoon-filled gardens.
Get lost in a sanctuary of tropical gardens and elaborate Thai buildings at the original Anantara resort. It’s an escape made for slowing down, where days are reserved for melting massages at the exquisite spa, relishing in a good book by the sea and maybe working up an appetite with a round of golf at one of the seven courses nearby. Come happy hour, settle down by the pool after your mildly strenuous day and choose your cocktail before heading for some salty, sweet and sour pad thai at Rim Nam. If you’re craving a little bit of civilisation, hop on the resort shuttle and visit Hua Hin town centre, the original summer residence of choice for the Thai royal family.
Why we love Anantara Hua Hin
-
It’s in a great and peaceful setting on a sweep of pristine sand, but with shops, golf courses and attractions in easy reach
-
The design – a reimagining of a traditional Thai village, with gabled pavilions and lotus ponds – is supremely elegant
-
It’s hard to imagine anything more soothing than a four-hand Thai massage in the outdoor pavilion in the spa’s lush garden
-
There’s so much to do, from Muay Thai boxing classes and snorkelling tours to self-guided trips on Anantara’s own scooters
Rooms
Retire to your ultra-comfortable king-size bed, where you’ll have a view of the gardens, sea or lagoon. The 190 rooms and suites are modern yet traditional, with dark, polished wood and Thai silk adorning the bed. A garden terrace or balcony encourages you to sit and take in your view – we recommend a Lagoon View Junior Suite for an impossibly romantic hideaway overlooking the water lilies.

We had anamazing time with the family in this resort with excellent, personalised service at a very reasonable rate.

Anantara Hua Hin is a hidden gem about a 3hr drive south of Bangkok. Great service by staff and one of the most beautiful grounds surrounding by lush gardens throughout. Ida and Ice made my checkin a breeze and welcomed me with cool scented wet towels and a welcome drink.

We stayed at Anantara Hua Hin recently and overall had a wonderful experience. Our room was newly renovated with a relaxing seaview. The lobby and lounge staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Special mention to Ray, Miwz, Ice and Atom — they were the highlight of our guest experience. Ray in particular went above and beyond: he personally arranged a transfer for us to a nearby non-affiliated hotel, even taking the extra step to call ahead and check that our room there was ready. Another evening, when my son was running a fever, I called guest service to ask for a thermometer. The hotel didn’t have one available, but the staff immediately arranged for someone to purchase one from the nearby 7/11 and deliver it to our room (of course we reimbursed them). We signed up for the Spice Spoon cooking class and Muay Thai class. Both classes were an experience and allow us to immerse in their local cultures. Highly recommended. Thanks Chef Somkiat and Coach Pooh for the experience. The downside for the trip is the lobby is currently under renovation, and the check-in counter has been shifted into the Kasara Lounge, which takes away from the usual Club exclusiveness. The current kids club is also a temporary arrangement which held in a connecting room, it doesn’t seem to have much activity as the space is limited. Overall, despite some inconveniences, the service and the renovated room more than made up for it. The seaviews are beautiful, and the genuine care shown by the staff made our stay memorable. We’ll definitely be happy to return once the works are completed.
