The recently upgraded Resort Studio rooms are tasteful modern sanctuaries inspired by Mary Poppins Returns and finished with accents of powder blue and teal with gold embellishments.
When choosing your room, consider whether your family would be better accommodated in adjoining rooms or whether your kids are happy sharing a bed or sleeping on a sofa bed. Think about your view too — a theme park view room means you can enjoy the Magic Kingdom fireworks without the crowds! With restaurants and bars themed on classic Disney movies, princess-themed afternoon teas, and character dining experiences, Disney magic is liberally sprinkled at every turn. The Grand Floridian is also home to one of Walt Disney’s World’s finest restaurants, Victoria & Albert, a celebrated special occasion restaurant where the wow factor can be further dialled up by booking a coveted chef’s table experience. Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan
The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan is available at more than one hundred venues across Walt Disney World. For each night of your stay, each guest is given credits for two quick-service meals, one drink with each meal, one snack, and a refillable mug. The plan is loaded onto your Disney band or card, which you can use to redeem the credits anytime during your stay.
Disney Dining Plan
Your Disney band or card is preloaded with credits that you can use to pay for meals at over two hundred locations across Walt Disney World. For each night of your stay, you will receive credits for one quick-service meal, one table-service meal, one drink per meal, and one snack. When you arrive, you will receive a refillable drink mug that you can use for free refills at your Disney resort hotel. Fine and signature dining, dinner shows, and character dining are included in the plan, but two table-service meals will be deducted from your dining credits.
The 24-hour Grand Floridian Health Club has a range of fitness equipment. For recreation, there are plenty of golf courses throughout Walt Disney World and basketball courts near the health club. The Grand Floridian Spa is open daily from 9am to 6pm and offers a wide selection of body treatments, massages, and manicures.
Hire boats from the marina or take a fishing excursion on Seven Seas Lagoon. You can also take a speciality cruise to see the fireworks from the water in an exceptional experience that includes snacks and drinks.
Walt Disney World has taken a significant step towards sustainability by eliminating single-use plastic straws and stirrers. The company is also working towards zero waste to landfill by 2030. Organic waste generated at Walt Disney World is sent to an off-site composting facility to be turned into nutrient-rich soil, which can be used to fertilise plants.
Family time here is spent together, whether splashing around in the Beach Pool and zipping down its waterslide or joining in poolside activities hosted around the Courtyard Pool – expect pool games and quizzes. In the evening, gather around a campfire for marshmallows, then head over to the Summerhouse for complimentary Movies Under the Stars. At the Grand Floridian, you’ll also get a great view of the nightly Electrical Water Pageant across the Seven Seas Lagoon.
If you’re on holiday for a birthday, in-room celebrations can be pre-arranged.
Families with babies and young children (or older kids, for that matter!) may be grateful for the self-service laundry facilities in a few locations throughout the resort. Valet laundry services are available too.
