Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
A lively, Spanish-inspired resort
The scale of this vibrant resort will strike you from the moment you step into the airy lobby that’s lit by Moorish lanterns – just one of many nods to Spanish styling through the hotel.
Although the looming Gran Destino tower take centre stage at Disney’s Coronado Springs, the resort spreads around a lake in low-lying motel-style buildings, divided into three areas. Each area has its own swimming pool, but you’ll likely find yourself heading for the Lost City of Cibola, the resort’s main waterpark for maximum thrills. You’re particularly close to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World and while Magic Kingdom is furthest away, it’s only a 20-minute bus journey. When you return, there are plenty of places to eat, whether you want something quick from a counter-service restaurant or you’re ready to relax and enjoy some table service.
Why we love Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
-
You can watch the EPCOT fireworks in the distance from the patio of the rooftop Dahlia Lounge with an icy G&T.
-
As one of Disney’s Moderate Resorts, you’ll get to access the parks 30 minutes early. Perfect for getting first in the queue for a must-do attraction!
-
The pool scene is epic. A long waterslide and oversized whirlpool are built around a Mayan pyramid. There are also three quieter pools dotted around the resort.
-
There’s always plenty going on, from art workshops and pool games to marshmallow toasting and outdoor movie screenings.
Rooms
The rooms and suites here feel smart and contemporary, with hardwood floors, a tasteful colour palette, and modern bathrooms. There’s some subtle Disney theming – nothing too much, if that’s not your thing, but enough to remind you where you are.
Your room will be in one of three areas – Ranchos, Casitas, or Cabanas – unless you choose a Gran Destino room, which is in the main tower. Here, you’ve also got the option to upgrade to a Club Level room which has extra benefits like daily housekeeping, access to lounge that serves complimentary refreshments all day, and access to concierge and planning services.
Facilities
There’s a great selection of restaurants here, whether you want to pick up a quick breakfast or lunchtime burger or relax over an evening meal at Three Bridges or Toledo table-service restaurants. Head to the top of the Gran Destino tower for a nightcap at Dahlia Lounge while you watch the fireworks in the distance or a tequila-based cocktail by the lake. Opt for the Disney Dining Plan, and most options are included.
Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood
A rooftop restaurant open for dinner and serving the flavours of Spain surrounded by olive trees.
Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago
An over-the-water, semi-al fresco restaurant for a relaxing evening dining on shareable starters, salads, and poke bowls.
Rix Sports Bar & Grill
Catch up with your US sports shown on 31 screens while feasting on classic American favourites like loaded nachos, chicken wings, and burgers.
Dahlia Lounge
A rooftop bar with indoor and outdoor areas. Mixologists are on hand to mix the perfect cocktail or opt for one of many Spanish wines to pair with tapas.
Barcelona Lounge
Coffee lover? You’re in luck. This all-day espresso bar serves excellent café-con-leche. At night, the focus switches to top craft gins.
Siestas Cantina
A poolside joint serving everything you need on a pool day, from icy refreshments to burgers and nachos.
Maya Grill
This Mexican restaurant is open for dinner and promises favourites like fajitas, tacos, and quesadillas alongside family-sharing platters.
Café Rix
Open early till late for quick breakfasts, coffees, snacks, and treats.
El Mercado de Coronado
A great breakfast spot, then serves burgers, pizzas, pasta for lunch and dinner.
Laguna Bar
A lakeside bar open from the late afternoon, serving an impressive selection of cocktails alongside bar bites.
We love the on-the-lake location and twinkling ambience of Three Bridges after a busy day in the parks.

Upgrade Options
When you stay at a Walt Disney World resort, you have the option to choose between two dining plans: the Disney quick-Service Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Plan.
The Disney quick-Service Dining Plan includes two quick-service meals and one drink per meal per guest, as well as one snack and a refillable mug per person. You can redeem the credits at over one hundred quick-service and counter-service locations across Walt Disney World’s parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. The plan is loaded onto your Disney band or card, and you can use it at any pace during your stay. You can’t use your credits at Disney’s table-service restaurants.
The Disney Dining Plan preloads your Disney band or card with credits that you can use to pay for meals at over two hundred locations throughout the park, including table-service restaurants where you’ll often need a reservation. Every night of your stay, you'll receive credits for one quick-service meal, one table-service meal (a main course and dessert), one drink per meal, and one snack. Additionally, you'll get a refillable drink mug on arrival that you can use for free refills at your Disney resort hotel. The dining plan includes fine and signature dining, dinner shows, and character dining. However, keep in mind that two table-service meals will be deducted from your dining credits for these experiences.
Unusually for a Disney Moderate Resort, Disney's Coronado Springs has a fitness centre with cardio, strength, and functional equipment. If you prefer to work out outside, there’s a scenic jogging trail around the lake and a sand volleyball court.
Family of water babies? The Lost City of Cibola is a large swimming pool set around a Mayan pyramid. There’s a 123-foot-long waterslide and activities take place all day. For something quieter, there are three other swimming pools in the Casitas, Ranchos, and Cabanas areas of the resort. There’s also a Mayan themed playground for burning off excess energy!
In the evening, head to the pool for marshmallows around the campfire. There are also free outdoor movie screenings on most nights.
