Disney's Pop Century Resort

Nicely nostalgic

With the Skyliner gondola whisking you to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this Disney ‘value’ resort has a lot going for it when you want to balance price, perks, and accessibility.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a cheery hotel celebrating bygone eras across five distinctive zones from the 1950s to the 1990s. While the novelty floppy disk-shaped swimming pool might be a little lost on your kids, they’ll still love the feel-good vibe here that’s colourful, fun-loving, and brightly lit. Plus, all their favourite snacks are on offer from the food stations at the food court (there isn’t a table service restaurant —  it’s all very casual here), there are Disney outdoor movie screenings on most nights, and they can toast marshmallows around a campfire, too.

Why we love Disney's Pop Century Resort

  • The real bonus of this value resort is that it’s connected to the excellent Skyliner aerial gondola system, which takes guests directly to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The complimentary bus network is available to reach other parks.

  • The rooms are practical and functional, with subtle theming in the form of Disney posters. They can sleep up to four people in two beds, one of which is a pull-down bed that can be stowed to create more space during the day.

  • All rooms feature a “Hey, Disney” device, which allows you to use voice commands to request information, towels, bedtime stories, wake-up alarms, and more.

  • If you’ve decided to hire a car, there’s free parking outside the five accommodation blocks, so you have easy access to your vehicle if you want to explore the wider Orlando area.

Disney ‘value’ resorts like this one don’t feature fitness centres or spas, but there is a mile-long jogging trail to follow.

There are three large swimming pools. The Hippy Dippy Pool has water jets from oversized flowers and a kiddie pool for smaller swimmers. The Bowling Pool is in the 1950s zone, shaped like a bowling pin, and the Computer Pool celebrates 90s nostalgia with its giant floppy disk motif. When you check in, get the latest schedule of poolside events and activities to look out for.

This is a fabulous family-orientated hotel with activities and games to join in with when you’re hanging out at the hotel. As well as the three swimming pools, there’s an outdoor playground and an indoor arcade. Evenings bring Movies Under the Stars and the chance to toast marshmallows around the fire.
