Grand Naniloa, A DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel
Modern, light and with a sense of place, this popular hotel has a fantastic setting on the Waiakea Peninsula.
Built on a lava outcrop, this hotel really sets the tone for your time on the island of Hawaii – lava’s definitely something you’re going to see plenty of here. It’s located on Banyan Drive which is lined by huge banyan trees – a unique way to approach the hotel. Once you're here, you can enjoy the waterside setting; there’s no beach but that doesn’t distract from the incredible views that you can enjoy from every corner of the hotel. Behind the hotel there’s a nine-hole golf course which you can play for free and the small-but-perfectly-formed pool is a good spot to spend the time you are not out exploring.
The rooms and suites have all been renovated and have light and bright décor and some have splashes of deep purple. We highly recommend upgrading to one of the rooms which have ocean views, or even better – a room that has sea views and a balcony or a lanai. These are some pretty amazing vistas to wake up to each day.

Hotel is very dated and run down, but admittedly it is something they are working on. At least the rooms were clean. I wouldn't stay here until renovations are finished. The lobby bar has decent drinks but wasn't serving food (according to a hotel employee their chef had been fired). The only food option was the restaurant on the ground floor. The food prices are what I would expect for the area and the food was mediocre to average. The only parking available is valet. We had checked in on the app and had mobile key (wanted to bypass the huge line at reception). Parked in a spot that didn't have any signs saying we couldn't park there, but came out to find a parking ticket on our car.

We stayed at this hotel last week. Nigel greeted us with warm cookies and a smile. He gave us a great room with a view and it was a suite. We were given drink tickets as we are Hilton Diamond. The hotel was on the water with fantastic views. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice. The hotel had a nice gust shop and the people at the hotel gave great suggestions on things to do.

Our return trip to the Grand Naniloa was perfect in every way. The staff at this location is amazing - with dedication to friendly, attentive service. Reception was both professional and friendly (Carlos, Amber, Cindy and Glenn) . Sierra at the Front Office was particularly helpful with regards to our stay. Housekeeping was on top of our needs. Casas, from engineering is particularly genuine and sweet. The lobby lounge staff is amazing : Scott, Rye, and Lyndsey-so friendly , efficient, personable and accommodating- perfect hospitality ambassadors! Loved the lobby lounge evening entertainment. The onsite restaurant is lovely and relaxing. Service was spot on and the menu wonderful. We enjoyed every meal we ordered. Physical improvements to the hotel were evident from our last stay- so kudos to the new owners and management for making this hotel even better than before!! Loved those beautiful rainbows and harbor activity from our balcony. Only wish we could live there year round!! Paradise!!!
