Grand Hotel Ambasciatori

A former 19th-century royal residence

Perched high on a clifftop with spellbinding views of the Neapolitan Riviera.

Once the summer residence of a Piemonte nobleman, this splendid 19th-century villa is now an elegant hotel boasting a dramatic setting. From its impressive clifftop location, the views over the coastline and Bay of Naples are simply breathtaking. Sorrento is just a ten-minute walk away, making this gem of a hotel a great base for exploring the local area. Soothe aching muscles in the outdoor pool with hydro-massage or relax under the shade of palm trees on the sun terrace. For a change of scenery, take the internal lift down to the private beach.

Why we love Grand Hotel Ambasciatori

  • The dramatic clifftop setting offers not only incredible views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples, but is just a short walk to the centre of Sorrento.

  • Stylish interiors include marble stair cases, antiquities, mosaic walls and hand-painted tiled floors.

  • The hotel has an elevator built into the rock that takes guests down to the private beach. Classed a blue flag, guests can relax on the sun deck whilst absorbing the views of the Gulf of Naples.

  • During the summer months the hotel hosts a series of live music events at the pool terrace.

Restaurant Le Muse, which also houses the Vesuvio Terrace, has delightful views over the Bay of Naples, which are best enjoyed at sunset. When it's time to indulge in a refreshing cocktail or two you have a choice of three bars with different settings – overlooking the gardens, at the bottom of the cliff facing the sea or on the poolside terrace overlooking the sea.

Restaurant Le Muse Start your day with a hearty breakfast overlooking Sorrento Bay at Restaurant Le Muse.

DIONISIO Pool Bar & Restaurant Mediterranean cuisine is the flavour of the day in a relaxed poolside setting at DIONISIO.

Restaurant Ambassador Open for dinner, the stylish Restaurant Ambassador overlooks the sea.

Bar Afrodite Enjoy afternoon tea or a refreshing cocktail overlooking the gardens.

Bar Poseidone Located at the bottom of a cliff, this sea level bar is a place where you can sit and watch the boats go by as you enjoy your favourite drink.
