Dhigali Maldives

Contemporary, all-inclusive and wonderfully remote

Dhigali brings modern design, sustainable principles, and a family-friendly feel to the Maldives.

A 45-minute seaplane journey whisks you to this lesser-developed and lesser-known part of the Maldives on the Raa Atoll. Excellent hospitality and cool modern features are highlights here, but in this less developed atoll you can also gain a real sense of local culture. Dhigali feels more youthful than others, with a roster of impressive sustainability credentials. The resort’s Premium All Inclusive goes beyond the norm and includes a Dolphin Cruise or a Sunset Cruise and a glass bottom boat trip.

Why we love Dhigali Maldives

  • Explore an under-the-radar part of the Maldives, staying in a resort built to be more energy efficient

  • Warmly welcoming for families where kids aren’t an afterthought

  • A youthful vibe runs through Dhigali like a thread, from the style of the accommodation to the menu options

  • The Premium All Inclusive package goes beyond what you might typically expect

Dining choices are varied, interesting, and delicious at Dhigali. Capers, the main buffet, has an ever-changing theme, but you’ll want to make the most of this resort and try the three speciality a la carte options, including a grill restaurant and a restaurant serving Middle Eastern and Asian-inspired dishes. For quick bites, there’s a café and a pizzeria.

Capers
The resort’s main buffet restaurant is bound to become a favourite location. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here with choices including international favourites and local dishes.

Faru
The open kitchen of this grill restaurant adds an element of theatre to dining, whether you come for the a la carte lunch or plump for a sunset dinner.

Pizzeria
Open daily from 11am to 6pm, this hut-style pizzeria operates on a takeaway basis – perfect for when you get a little peckish on the beach.

Haali
A bar that’s open all day but particularly atmospheric at sunset when you can find a comfy spot on the beach to water the display with a glass of bubbles in hand.

Café
Open daily from 10am to 5pm. Pick up coffees, cakes, pastries, and sandwiches whenever the mood strikes.

Battuta
A refined, evening-only restaurant with dishes inspired by Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Jade
The open sides of Jade allow an ocean breeze to ripple through as diners select from a la menus for dinner.

East
An all-day al fresco bar serving cocktails, wines, and beers.

Jade has particularly wonderful views to enjoy by day and takes on a more romantic feel from sunset and beyond.

A lush retreat in the centre of the island invites guests to relax. Treatments vary from 30-minute quick fixes to long and luxurious rituals and a range of pregnancy treatments for babymooners. There’s an outdoor pool with daybeds especially for spa guests before they pad off to one of 12 modern treatment rooms. Post-treatment, there’s a steam room and relaxation lounge. Complimentary guided group yoga and meditation classes are available.

The kids don't need to be left behind when you are heading to the spa as there are treatments dedicated to junior guests aged 4 to 8 years of age. Specific parent and child treatments provide the perfect activity to spend some quality time with your children in a relaxing environment.

There’s a fitness centre open from 6am to 9pm for working out alone or group fitness activities, including complimentary exercise classes and water aerobics.

Dhigali’s house reef is all around the island and about four metres out from the beach, dropping to a depth of around 35 metres. Divers may encounter large schools of fish and a wide range of corals. Tuna, eagle rays, and black tip reef sharks have been known to circle the reef. Divers can join a boat trip to explore small caves where there’s the opportunity to spot turtles, lionfish, manta rays, and sharks.

Some non-motorised water sports are complimentary. A wider range of options is available at an additional charge, including jet skiing, banana boats, parasailing and sailing.

The swimming pool area has three pools, including one for children.

When the resort was built, they preserved about 80% of the original vegetation and used indigenous varieties for landscaping around the buildings. The accommodation was designed to be energy efficient, requiring less energy to cool.

The onsite sewerage treatment plant provides water for the gardens, and the resort’s green and organic waste provides garden mulch. There are no plastic straws, and plastic bottles have been replaced with reusable glass. Exhaust heat from power generators is used to power steam generators for the washing machines.

Dhigali's colourful kids' club is designed for children aged 4 to 12, although children under four can enjoy the facility with a parent’s supervision. It opens daily between 9 am and 6 pm. There are air-conditioned indoor areas and a shady outdoor area with play equipment, water jets, and sand. Every day has a different theme and a busy schedule, from island adventures to ocean-inspired fun. Look out for sweet activities like sea yoga, coconut painting, and palm leaf origami. Babysitting is available at a charge for children two years and above*. The childcare is certified by Worldwide Kids, an organisation that accredits resorts that provide world-class childcare services.

A mixture of suites, villas and bungalows circle the island, with a few different options for families. Deluxe Beach Bungalows and Water Villas sleep two adults and one child, which is ideal for small families. Other options, like the Beach Villas, sleep two adults and two children, and you can choose one with a private plunge pool overlooking the ocean. To push the boat out, book a Lagoon Villa with a pool. Perched on stilts out in the water, they have steps that lead straight into the ocean. Just bear in mind there’s a minimum age of 12 for children staying in overwater rooms.

When it comes to getting around, remember you can use the resort’s shuttle buggies if you’ve got little ones who tire easily.

Dhigali's colourful kids' club (for 4-12s) has indoor and outdoor play areas, and there's a separate pool area for children. Babysitting is available for children 2 years and above*

Minimum age 12 in overwater rooms.

Minimum stays apply.
