Shangri-La Le Touessrok Mauritius

For luxury-loving castaways

Managed by Shangri-La, exceptional service is the focus at this signature Mauritius resort.

The much-loved Shangri-La Le Touessrok Mauritius features a design that pays homage to the island’s multicultural influences, which is complemented by Shangri-La’s renowned Asian-inspired service. A real highlight of the resort is the two island retreats which are accessible within minutes by boat. The star of the show is Ilot Mangénie which is exclusive to guests of the resort; you can escape to the island to enjoy the attentive on-island butler service and the cool beach club atmosphere. The other island is the famous Ile aux Cerfs, home to the renowned Bernhard Langer-designed 18-hole championship golf course.

Why we love Shangri-La Le Touessrok Mauritius

  • This iconic Mauritius resort has won a hatful of richly deserved awards in its 45-year history, including world’s best hotel

  • It comes with its own private island retreat just a short boat ride away where there’s even more of a castaway-luxe feeling

  • Shangri-La is renowned for its warm, thoughtful and discreet hospitality, and Le Touessrok is a wonderful example of this. You'll be greeted with a taditional gong ritual as you walk into the lobby.

  • The setting may be supremely romantic, but families will feel just as welcomed as honeymooners and couples

Coco's Beach House
Laid back beach house vibes serving up dishes with locally sourced seafood dishes with a side of panoramic sea views.

Sega Bar
This stylish bar is the place to head for pre or post-dinner cocktails, Mauritian rums and an evening of live music, or just to unwind after a day in the sun in this island living room. You can even pair your choice of tipple with some small plates and tapas dishes on offer and marvel at the amazing colour palette of the sunset.

The rest of the treatment menu is just as intriguing, with everything from Mother and Daughter mani-pedis to the latest hi-tech aesthetic treatments.

Practice yoga at sunrise or later in the day under the eye of a master practitioner or learn the art of pranayama, a special breathing technique designed to promote a sense of calm.

You can also have a hands-on experience and do your bit for the environment by helping the resort beekeeper and help harvest some honey.

If you're looking for an activity with a touch more luxury you can enjoy a chic champagne cruise* and explore the surrounding lagoon. Or you can head up into the sky and go on a helicopter ride* over the crystal waters to Ile Plate for an intimate picnic*, making it a perfect add if you're travelling for a special occasion.

The resort’s dive centre offers PADI and CMAS courses for all levels from complete beginner to advanced.

You can take to the water in a variety of ways to explore the surrounding mangroves, including snorkelling, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, pedal boating, windsurfing, Hobie cat sailing and glass-bottomed boat tours. For an additional fee, there’s also wakeboarding, banana tube riding, kite surfing and parasailing.

There are no single use plastic bottles, straws or containers used within the resort and all water bottles provided by the resort are made from plants and sugar cane. The resort is proud to say that 100% of the waste water is upcycled to a local farm to aid with irrigation. Restaurants use locally sourced ingredients to support local farmers, as well as the resort's very own home-grown fruits and vegetables to produce the freshly prepared meals you eat during your stay. The resort supports local disadvantaged children through the Shangri-La's Embrace programme.

Parents can rest easy with the signature T-Club which is open daily from 9am-10pm at no extra cost for their children to enjoy. Arts and crafts lessons have been designed to aid learning and development of children ages 4 to 11 years whilst active play sessions will appeal more towards teens aged between 12-17 years.
