 Hotel Jardin Tecina

Showstopping views

Fresh from a top-to-toe renovation in 2024, Hotel Jardin Tecina brings an elegant but earthy feel to its gorgeous clifftop spot on La Gomera.

Set around low-rise bungalows and gardens that give it a village-like appeal, Hotel Jardin Tecina has a beautiful position on La Gomera with incredible sea views. It’s small enough to feel personable but big enough to have excellent facilities, including a spa, a handful of swimming pools, a tennis academy, and mini golf. It takes full advantage of the natural setting, with cave-set private dinners and restaurants that make the most of spectacular views. A clifftop lift takes you down to a beach, where there’s also a saltwater pool.

Why we love Hotel Jardin Tecina

  • The golf course is beautiful, with the Tiede volcano as its backdrop and year-round superb conditions.

  • The vegan menus use 100% organic ingredients from the hotel’s vegetable patches, fruit trees, and greenhouse.

  • The guest rooms feel light and bright without losing their sense of warmth, with smart wooden floors softened with beautiful upholstery and soft furnishings. Ocean-inspired art gives a nod to the surroundings.

  • The buffet restaurant is finished in abundant natural materials—plenty of wood finishes and plants—befitting the menu sourced from the hotel’s finca and featuring plenty of vegetarian and vegan selections.

What a fabulous 5 nights at this beautiful hotel with TUI.. We upgraded and had room 225 which was beautiful, with comfy beds, a large walk in shower, fridge, good air con, safe, fridge and plenty of storage. The balcony had a table, chairs and two loungers and looked out straight over the sea. Watching the sun rise was spectacular, alongside listening to the bizarre Cory shearwaters! Housekeeping g was very good. All staff we encountered were hard working and friendly. Gardens and grounds were immaculate and colourful and there were no issues getting a lounger by the lovely pool. It's all set out like a Canarian village and is quite steep, so not great if you have mobility issues, but porters deliver the luggage. The food was first rate for me as a vegetarian and my friend as a meat and fish eater. Half board and dinner and breakfast were varied and tasty. We drank at the pool bar, participated in table tennis and mini golf which was all good fun. Our evening highlight was a cocktail in the bar listening to the extraordinary talent that is Anne-Tina, the Danish pianist. Joyous. I cannot fault the place and La Gomera is stunning. The hotel has a lift that takes you down to the port and beach at Playa Santiago where you can catch the express ferry to San Sebastian one way and Valle Del Rey the other. What's not to love? Thank you one and all.

This is definitely place for couples. Lots of activities in house and outdoors. Including golf course. Breakfast and dinner buffet are good quality and great variety, even vegans are served. Friendly and helpful staff compete the vacations positive way. I would definitely choose room with sea views…

Our first time on La Gomera and we must have picked the best place to stay on this beautiful island, quite different to any other in The Canaries. This is a large hotel set on the top of the cliffs with spectacular views and great walks, even it’s own banana plantation! It has it’s own lovely golf course as well. Despite covering a massive area, and with lots of accommodatdation, the public areas never seemed crowded (naturally breakfast and dinner buffets will be at times) so it can be quite peaceful. An important point to note is that two of the restaurants are off the beach at Club Laurel. There is an amazing lift down bored out of solid rock but there are still steps and it can be quite steep in parts. Not ok for wheelchair access. For dinner, you can upgrade to a gourmet pass allowing access to three a la carte restaurants for the six course tasting menus which vary day to day. With these if you want to go a la carte instead, there is a 25% discount off the menu. Food was great at these and whilst the buffet (inc with HB) is probably better than most, it is still a buffet but with lots of choice and varies every evening. The rooms all seem to have sea views, we chose a more exclusive area with its own pool, comfortable four poster double loungers and close to the room with two spas as well! Rooms were clean though servicing could be hit and miss at times. Two bottles of water only provided (a little mean) but you can buy it from the shop or across the road. Nice coffee maker but allowance of just four pods for two weeks, however, you can buy more! The hotel had a big refurbishment last year and it is very well done throughout The IT may need to be next on the list as we had a few issues with the restaurant booking system, basically it doesn’t work but the ever helpful staff on reception (Lucille was a star) will book for you. You must book and ahead as well. Other issues like room cards a problem on our first night and other minor stuff. Needs looking at. The staff are outstanding. Everyone was always helpful courteous and fun to engage with, a real credit to whoever trains them. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they all work so hard constantly. So well done and thank you! There are a lot reasons to return, but the big draw would be beautiful Anne-Tina a celebrated Danish musician who plays the Grand Piano most evenings in the bar. Listening to her melodies in the evenings was the perfect end to wonderful relaxing days. Thank you for the Music as the song goes.
