Kalima Resort & Villas Khao Lak
A contemporary boutique bolthole
This striking resort is a convenient sweet spot for island time and adventure in Khao Lak.
This edgy resort breaks away from the typical hotel blueprint with cool, geometric shapes and textures. It has an instantly recognisable design that stands out against any other hotel you might find in the area – like an ultra-modern twist on rustic forest cabins. The town centres and their night markets might be a short drive away, but the hotel itself is a refreshing sanctuary of comfort.
Why we love Kalima Resort & Villas Khao Lak
-
It feels luxuriously private thanks to its setting among mangrove forests and rubber plantations where two rivers meet the sea
-
From a design point of view, it’s impressive, with airy contemporary architecture that sits perfectly in the landscape
-
It’s only minutes from Tap Lamu Pier, the jumping-off point for snorkelling and diving trips to the stunning Similan Islands
-
Parents can unwind by the hilltop infinity pool or in the stylish spa while their children have fun in the well-equipped kids’ club
This resort has earned internationally recognised certification that conform to standards set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
Rooms
The 231 quirky rooms and villas have wood grain interiors and unexpected angles that tie modern and rustic design together. Grand Deluxe Pool/Lake View rooms are one of our favourite picks for the spa tub on your balcony, or for direct pool access instead of a spa tub, go for a ground-floor Deluxe Pool/Access Garden View room. Private Pool Villas are the best choice for extra privacy – they come with one, two or three bedrooms and have their own garden setting.
Facilities
Maluka serves a vast breakfast international buffet. The Beach Bar Restaurant, while not strictly on a beach, is a great vantage spot for views of the surrounding trees from its accompanying hilltop infinity pool. T-Café serves coffee, baked goods and ice cream throughout the day. There are two bars; swim up to 3 Million or catch up with the latest sports events at the Tin Bar.
